Athens Books to Prisoners is an all volunteer run organization. We have no paid staff and spend 100% of our donations on postage, packaging supplies, copies, paperback dictionaries, etc. We receive no grants or outside funding. This program would not be possible without community donations. All financial donations allow us to help more people in prison. Consider a one time donation or a monthly pledge. You can mail a check made out to Athens Books to Prisoners to the address below, or click the paypal button below. All donations are tax deductible as People's Justice League has signed on as our fiscal sponsor. After making a donation through paypal, you will be given the option to print a receipt for tax purposes. If you are sending a check by mail, please send a note along with it, asking for a thank you letter in return if you need one for tax purposes. Gift cards for the Athens Book Center, Kinko's, or the post office are also greatly appreciated as well.

We are dependent upon the donation of quality reading material to our program. Below is a list of most needed and not so needed books. Please check that out. We cannot take hardback or spiral books. We have book donation drop boxes at the following locations:

Donate Supplies!
We always need more packing material. Bring us your paper grocery bags, packing tape, sharpie markers, pens, and post card stamps! We also need white Avery shipping labels, the ones that fit 6 to a page. You can pick them up at Staples or order them on-line to mailed to us. The product number is 8165. You can also drop any of these things into the book donation box at the Athens Books to Prisoners space at 30 1st street.
